I have these iconic 70s chairs from my grandparents house, and lots of memories of sitting in them in the summertime, cold drink in hand, listening to boats hum along the river in New Bern, NC. While I was setting up this still life to paint, I realized the shadow of the chair added a lot of interest. Plus I love the idea of shadow memories, showing up even when the people and places we love are long gone.
